at the beginning of the book is
quite slow I almost didn't finish it I put it down several times but I am really glad I did because the last half of the book is really sweet and I'd recommend this book to anyone

My face hurts from smiling

I loved this book in print and bought the audio version to listen to on my daily commute. My face hurt from smiling so much. I love it even more in audio.

This is one of my absolute favourites of MZ and have probably read it a half a dozen times. Listening to it in audio just made the whole experience feel like a warm hug🥰 I cannot wait to listen to her other books now that I’m hooked

Pretty good book

One warning , you have to get through the first 10 chapters as “emails” read back and forth. But after that point it is really good.
Not that the emails are bad but just makes it a little less like a story in my opinion.

Loved it

I think this is my favourite MZ book yet. I loved both MCs, and the performance was great by both voice actors. I wish Teddy Hamilton continued his parts into the dialogue but it was still so good. Callie Dalton nails these books.

Had Real Potential

I really was enjoying this book, specifically with the male and female narrators; once it switched to just the female narrator, I was really disappointed! They should have had Teddy Hamilton all the way through the story. I also found it to drag on a little at times; just get to the point.

Curious acting choices

I will admit that I probably should have read this one instead of listening to it on audiobook.

While the concept is interesting, listening to emails back-and-forth and DM’s for over half the book gets old very fast. Ruby and Aaron don’t meet until about 60% of the book and don’t get together until the 90% mark. Even though I love a slow burn romance, that was a little too slow for me.

Also while the actors did an amazing job bringing Ruby and Aaron to life, I did find some of their choices curious. The male voice actor only voiced Aaron’s emails and text messages. Once we meet Aaron in real life, he is voiced by the female voice actress. I don’t understand why this choice was made since the whole point of having two voice actors is to have that back-and-forth in scenes. It really threw me off, especially since the male voice actor voices Aaron in the epilogue.

This book has very little plot. For a book that’s 500 pages, it’s long to get through. Reading it would’ve been a better experience, but I’m glad that I’ve read it as I love the author.

slow start but uncomplicatedly romantic

The first few hours of the audiobook are a "pen pal" exchange, so it takes a while to build. The conflicts in these stories are mostly internal, so while that is as complex as you can imagine (if you are like me an argue with yourself more than you argue with others), it leads itself to be a nice, uncomplicated book nevertheless.

Really Good

I enjoyed the idea of two narrators for the main characters, I do wish the book hadn't ended like it did; I felt that the books ending wasn't satisfying enough. #Audible1
