Starting in the mid-1800s, there was a steady drop in deaths from all infectious diseases, decreasing to relatively minor levels by the early 1900s.
The history of that transformation involves famine, poverty, filth, lost cures, eugenicist doctrine, individual freedoms versus state might, protests and arrests over vaccine refusal, and much more.
Today, we are told that medical interventions increased our lifespan and single-handedly prevented masses of deaths. But is this really true?
Dissolving Illusions details facts and figures from long-overlooked medical journals, books, newspapers, and other sources. Using myth-shattering information, this book shows that vaccines, antibiotics, and other medical interventions are not responsible for the increase in lifespan and the decline in mortality from infectious diseases. If the medical profession could systematically misinterpret and ignore key historical information, the question must be asked, “What else is ignored and misinterpreted today?”
Perhaps the best reason to know our history is so that the worst parts are never repeated.

The world needs to read this book!
I absolutely love this book. It's well researched and put together. My only issue is the PDF seems to be missing or not included for some reason? The audio book refers to pictures and graphs many times yet there is no pdf available containing any of the images. I would love to see them. That being said book is fantastic and is something everyone should read. Should be a school book as part of high school curriculum in my opinion.

Must read for concerned citizens
In light of the covid debacle I have been questioning a lot of things. I was stunned to learn the history of vaccines so closely mirrors the Covid 19 vaccines themselves. Scare mongering, lying, intimidation, money, and an over promise of success.
This book is thoroughly researched and needs to be considered when thinking about vaccines.

This is the right title for the book, and it’s a must-read for every parent and for every individual who curious about vaccines and their actual impact on human being health. What surprises me is that in the age of information and technology, people do not use it to educate themselves. At the same time, in the age of Google, books will remain the only unbiased source of information.
