Best of the series
This book adds a layer of depth to the whole series. Lady takes us from western mythology to Eastern, takes the wreckage of a tragic love story and the ashes if an older revenge drama and weaves a tale of blood soaked hope.

Tough start, but good overall
Its tough to get used to a new narrator after 4 books of the same consistent voice. Especially when some of the characters from previous books now sound radically different. That being said the performance is pretty good, and some of the characters actually sound better with the new narrator. Eventually you get used to the new narrator. Still doesn’t beat Marc Vietor from the first 4 books but I would recommend this if you like the series.

Rachel butera!!!
I was so skeptical …. Changing narrators….. but it quickly made sense, and Rachel omg she rebuilt lady for me…. And her voice, the expression, just simply amazing

Great story, atrocious narrator
A great book ruined by a terrible narrator. Not enjoyable to listen to if compared to previous books. Not worth the purchase.

Narration ruined this book for me
As per usual the quality of Cook's story was fantastic, but the horrible narration really didn't do it justice. I'm not sure if the narrator herself is to blame honestly, but her horrible, almost-racist "Indian" accents were only made worse by her complete mispronunciations of the names. Effectively the characters with bad accents didn't know how to pronounce their own names... Kind of embarassing.
I found I had to take multiple breaks just to be able to put up with the poor performance; her take on The Lady also had the character come off as petty instead of indifferent and cold as she had been portrayed prior to this story.
Let this be a warning to you - narration really does matter - every other book so far I was able to finish in one or two sittings..
I'm still muddling through this one in my fifth...
