Professor Taylor's first 18 lectures focus on "microeconomics," or looking at economics "from the bottom up." Topics in microeconomics include: supply and demand in the free market, monopolies and regulated competition, and public goods.
The second eighteen lectures cover "macroeconomics," or studying the economy "from the top down." Here you will examine the factors that help economists evaluate the economy on a national and global scale. Among these macroeconomic issues are: common ways the government taxes and spends, the relationship between employment and inflation, and international exchange rates.
Throughout, Professor Taylor helps you apply what you are learning to many of today's most frequently discussed and misunderstood issues.

Well worth the Purchase
chalked full of information, pretty comprehensive understanding of economic theory implications and implementations. I would highly recommend to anyone looking to review or dive into this amazing field of study.

Excellent intro... Clear, concise and entertaining
These lectures were excellent, this is my second from the Great Courses and I see no reason to stop.
This one in particular was well explained, to the point and very informative. If I had to choose something to complain it would be that, at times, Professor Taylor seemed unable to stay neutral and leaned over to the right a bit much.
All in all, an excellent product and well worth the time investment

Worth the price
This was a great introduction to economics. It avoids constant calculations and focuses on building a foundation of the basic factors and approaches from an economic perspective.

The professor does a great job explaining economic concepts. It is the first time that I found these concepts interesting.
