À propos de cet audio
A Gallup study found that 50 percent of resigning employees did so "to get away from their manager". The ones who don't quit become disengaged, creating a negative work environment costing US companies billions in lost productivity, each year.
Leaders in the 21st century need to understand that technical skills are not enough to be an effective manager. They need to able to demonstrate tactical empathy to create a more productive environment. This audiobook introduces listeners to the fundamentals of hostage negotiator leadership (HNL) which has, as its foundation, tactical empathy.
Inside this book, you'll learn 12 simple-to-execute skills that, if applied immediately, will have you operating at a level higher than most. Ego, Authority, Failure was authored for leaders who want actionable techniques to build trust-based influence in order to motivate and inspire. It is also shares cautionary tales for those in denial about the damage their ego and authority has on their organization.

For years now, win-win has been the paradigm for business negotiation. But today, win-win is just the seductive mantra used by the toughest negotiators to get the other side to compromise unnecessarily, early, and often. Win-win negotiations play to your emotions and take advantage of your instinct and desire to make the deal. Start with No introduces a system of decision-based negotiation that teaches you how to understand and control these emotions.

Sustainable Cultures Includes Improving All Areas
'Ego Authority Failure' clearly shows the very human trait of being prone to the fast-result-outcomes of the ego dominated, short-term profit ideology of our culture. As the world grapples with the many dire complexities facing our world community, with concerns equally ranging between concerns for the continuity of organized life, and global inequalities leading to global instabilities, all fueled by economic extremes and environmental emergencies... a balancing out of all extremes and the seeking of smooth, sustainable transitions becomes increasingly the preferred option. When the multi-faceted complexities inherent in a species whose impact on the planet and technologies are global... the seeking out of pathways that are as broadly sustainable as possible becomes the most prudent and optimal path for restoring balance to the ecosystem. Being a species prone to ego-exuberance, makes having well-thought out strategies and policies, that effectively channel these tendencies a very well proven concept and plan. With economic regulations curtailing profit-exuberance (short-term profitism at the expense of everything) for the long-term benefit of the global commons is now widely recognized within and outside the field of economics. As we see corporate-exuberance create ever increasing islands of plastic in the oceans of the world, the need for environmental regulation is now universal. Equally, the abuse of power across the collective areas of corporate mandates for shareholder profits, politics, banking, and the entire trickle down ideology... has left the world literally in environmental and economic tatters, as obviously outdated socio-economic models fail ecological paradigms. The middle path of balance-of-power is now a universal human concern, as the entire human project becomes increasingly vulnerable to out-of-balance tendencies; and why all things sustainable is the primary and growing concern for global citizenry. Derek Gaunt's book highlights how the nature of power is prone to and easily fanned by ego, which quickly leads to the failures that are unfortunately following us into the 21st century. All areas of power-concentration should be steadfastly seeking the routes, practices and policies to avoid repeating history and surpassing the worst of history, And primarily striving for the long term longevity of a bio-diverse world... dominated by a species that is learning to become a more sustainable global culture on all fronts.
