An Ed Greenwood classic
Well if your interested to learn more about Elminster or your a new reader looking for a good starting point you should get this book. Once I started it I couldn’t stop, I finished this book in a day. The story is riveting and paints such a vivid picture in your mind. Not much more left to say other than, if read this book already you should.

Great story from a D&D legend!
From the creator of Faerun the backstory of Elminster. A great piece of lore and inspiration for all Dungeon Masters.

Amazing Origin Story

good story okey voice acting its good but ...
I enjoyed it the writing is interesting the voice acting also different but pretty good.

A good book and I'll listen to the next too.
The voice artist does a good job though I wash there were some more character variation.
The story is mostly pretty good. There's some interesting backstory I wouldn't have even considered for a mage with different class/skill sets to jump off from.
The dialogue is clumsy though. Like someone who thinks the made up language perception of the middle ages was actually spoken that way.
*spoiler*
There's also a fairly awkward scene where Myrjala confesses to El in his female form turned back to male form that she struggles with him becoming male as she fell in love with a woman. Since Myrjala is Mystra who turned him into a woman, this doesn't make sense. and perhaps it's the modern lense in 2023, but even if Myrjala was mortal she is made out to be a lesbian who falls in love with a man and continues to stay with him. That's just not how sexuality works in adults, nevermind gods who are fully aware of a situation of someone's sex and gender.
