This one surprised me
Not a genre I expected to find interesting. Not even sure why I picked it up. But it hooked me early and stayed strong with a narrator who felt true to the main character while doing a good job of having distinct supporting characters.

Fantastic
Not only was the story original And gripping, the narrator kept me totally engaged. I love the new take on this old vampire story and hope that the second book comes out soon.

loved the story. I found reminders of Interview with a vampire & Name of the Rose within its pages, but not too much. The narrator most definitely added to my overall enjoyment of the book & I hope Damien Lynch does more. Excellent..couldn't stop lustening

amazing narration
was told to give this a listen and thought it would be a drab teenage vampire jaunt and was pleasantly surprised by how violent and crass the characters are. The narration is phenomenal with him being able to deliver pretty good accents and tones. would highly recommend.

Fantastic and Fresh
Didn't quite know what to expect from the synopsis, but damn... this was a well written book! It's like a mashup of a bunch of different tropes that makes a beautiful mosaic rather than being a mess. The characters lean towards more anti-hero than hero but all are likable, even the villains. Can't wait for the next novel in this new favourite series!

Must Listen!!
Captivating story, mystery, action, this book has it all! First time reading/listening to a book by Jay Kristoff and you can bet I’m buying more! Narration is incredibly important with audio books and Damion Lynch does not disappoint! I’d listen to almost anything narrated by him! Cannot recommend this enough

Highly Entertaining!
This book, the story and performance were outstanding! Very highly entertaining listen. The narrator did a great job of capturing the gothic dark landscape and characters that the story takes place in.

Grabbed me from the onset
Outstanding narration brings this epic tale to life. I’m not sure I would have enjoyed the book as much.
As some have mentioned, there are parallels to The Witcher but I did not find it a bad thing.
It’s not nearly as erotic as some reviews mention. I didn’t find anything offensive in it. If you don’t like foul language skip it.
Can’t wait to see where this goes.
