À propos de cet audio
Joining us at Audible Studios is Irish author Eoin Colfer, best known for his Artemis Fowl series of books. His latest stand-alone novel is for adults and is called Highfire.
Colfer, born and raised in Wexford, Ireland, alongside his four brothers, earned a degree from Dublin University before returning to Wexford to work as a teacher. After releasing some children's books that went down well in Ireland, he wrote the first draft of Artemis Fowl, and, on reading it, his family demanded he get himself an agent. Artemis Fowl allowed Colfer to leave his teaching job to write full time, and he has never looked back, gaining international recognition and regularly appearing in best seller lists.
Since, Colfer has written other series and contributed to the likes of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (2009) and Marvel: Iron Man: The Gauntlet (2016). Colfer's work has extended into writing plays, including My Real Life, which toured the UK and Ireland before featuring at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, and feature films, such as The Poison Pen, which was an eco-friendly production.
We chatted to Eoin Colfer about creating a really great villain, listening to audiobooks twice and which character in Highfire is most like him.
