À propos de cet audio
In the western culture we now have a 40 percent incidence of obesity, prediabetes, and Type 2 diabetes. I have written books explaining how this happened, how to prevent it, and how to manage it. I realized this was incomplete as now we have over 30 percent of children with obesity. Fat newborns have an increased risk of eventual development of obesity and subsequent type two diabetes. They have an increased risk of becoming fat infants and subsequently fat children. If I want to prevent Type 2 diabetes, I realized I have to go back to the beginning, that is when the mother becomes pregnant.
This book was designed to be read by those taking care of pregnant women, pregnant women themselves, , and new mothers. In order for you to understand the subject, I will introduce you to epigenetics, which is the study of the expression of your DNA. What happens to you in the womb affects your entire life.
