The seas were empty of all life. The Midwest was a desert. The western states fought wars over water as coastal cities sank under rising sea levels. What food was left was hoarded by the wealthy living lavish lives in the city states while those around them starved.
Vin Tanner and the others in his settlement survived by scavenging the urban waste lands around the cities. There was no law except survival of the fittest in a civilization on the verge of collapse.
But something was wrong, the cities were scouring the ruins for one man. He held the key to their survival. He was the only one who could give them the answers they needed.
