À propos de cet audio
Detective Inspector Siobhan Clarke is investigating the death of a senior lawyer during a robbery.
But the case becomes more complex when a note is discovered, indicating that this may have been no random attack. When local gangster Big Ger Cafferty receives an identical message, Clarke decides that the recently retired John Rebus may be able to help. He's the only man Cafferty will open up to, and together the two old adversaries might just stand a chance of saving Cafferty's skin.
But a notorious Glasgow crime family has arrived in Edinburgh, too, tailed by a team of undercover detectives. There's something they want, and they'll stop at nothing to get it. DI Malcolm Fox's job is to provide the undercover squad with local expertise, but he's soon drawn in too deep as the two cases look like colliding.
Meanwhile, an anonymous killer stalks the nighttime streets, focussed on revenge. It's a game of dog eat dog in the city as in the wild. Even Dogs in the Wild brings back Ian Rankin's greatest characters in a story exploring the darkest corners of our instincts and desires.

A Great Rebus Story
#Audible 1
This is a post-retirement Rebus story but the plot is intricate and there are some satisfying twists and turns. Malcolm Fox - formerly of the Complaints - features as one of the main characters along with Siobhan Clark and Big Ger Cafferty. While the story itself was very satisfying, the narration by James MacPherson made it even more enjoyable. MacPherson brought out a full range of Scottish accents and was able to give each character - no matter how minor - their own unique voice. I enjoyed his reading so much, I listened to it again after I had finished the book.
If you are a Rebus fan, this is a very satisfying story that is well told and very well presented. Highly recommended!

Traditional and Transional Rebus
I enjoyed this very much, with one caveat - getting used to the Scottish accent took some concentration. I actually had it on phone and tablet, and listened to it all twice - which was a good thing! I will listen to more Ian Rankin, this being my first audiobook of Rebus. Still a fan!

This is How Rankin Should Sound
I have been a fan of Rankin's Rebus novels for years. I was hesitant to listen to one fearing it couldn't possibly do justice to the texture and atmosphere of the books. I shouldn't have worried. This is a note-perfect reading, handled with intelligence, sensitivity and clarity. I have already bought another and am sure it will be just as good.
