À propos de cet audio
“Tale of wilderness survival and pursuit, told in lean, propulsive prose, but with a twist…Somer raises disquieting questions about our relationship with nature, and the debt we owe to the beings with whom we share our planet–even, or perhaps especially, when there is no longer any chance of restitution.”—The Guardian
In a lonely valley, deep in the mountains, a ranger watches over the last surviving grizzly bear.
With the natural world exhausted and in tatters, Ben has dedicated himself to protecting this single fragment of the wild.
One night, he hears voices in the valley—poachers, come to hunt his bear.
A heart-pounding chase begins, crossing forests and mountainsides, passing centuries of human ruins. Sometimes hunter, sometimes prey—Ben must choose the bear’s fate and his own.
Is he willing to lay down his life for a dying breed?
Is he willing to kill for it?

Somer time the best time of the year.
Bradley Somer paints such a vivid picture for the reader/listener the likes of Tolkien, Gaiman and Jeezy. Just as one can picture themselves deep in the mines of dwarves and orcs, walking amongst revered beings of faith, or posted up on the corner slangin white in the A, Somer makes you feel the solitude in the wilderness of a distopian future so well you can almost feel the tree branch smacking you in the face from not paying attention as you as you take in the sights.
John Chancer does a good job of the small cast of characters, at times I felt as if I was listening to James Woods. Pacing was perfect for the tone of the book.
I really hope they turn this book into a film. Hear me out... John Krasinski as Ben. BOOM! thank me later.
