Description
Jules the riding instructor. It’s not exactly what she expected out of her career, but things are going fine, and it’s better than living in a horse trailer, right? Most of the time, sure. But the cracks begin to show as the eventing season winds up and summer sets in across Florida.
Pete’s new horse has an overbearing owner who is pressuring him into pushing the horse too fast. Dynamo suddenly seems to be showing his age on the cross-country course. And how on Earth is Jules supposed to manage a barn, a dozen kids, and her own competition schedule? She’ll need some help from old friends - and maybe some old enemies, too - but Jules is going to keep moving forward, no matter what.
From the pine plantations of north Florida to the skyscraper shadows of the Central Park Horse Show, Forward is all about chasing dreams, wherever they may lead.

Great to listen to
I was very excited to see that the next installment of The Eventing Series had finally been released in Audible. I was just starting a new job, and was back to commuting, so I knew what I was going to listen to during my drives. I enjoyed the direction that Natalie went with the story. It was different from the other books and seeing the growth in Jules was great. I thoroughly enjoyed listening to her learning to balance the coaching aspect and the horse training aspect.
There were times when it was really hard to follow along between Peter and Jules. I am finding myself disliking their relationship more and more. Although they do work through their issues, I find that they are a bit toxic for each other and not in an enjoyable reading way (if there ever can be an enjoyable to read toxic relationship). Further, I was disappointed in the change of narrator. I did get used to Naomi by the end of the book, I found her hard to listen to at times. There were plenty of moments where it felt like she paused to look down, take a sip of water, and/or struggled to really connect with the horse world aspect of the story. It also felt like Naomi did not listen to the original performance from Piper and didn't attempt to mimic the way the characters were set up. For instance, Lindsay was way to peppy in her tone. There were times where it was hard to decipher between her and Lacey.
Overall though - I did enjoy the story, and the performance was good enough to get the story out onto Audible.
