À propos de cet audio
The year is 2026. China has taken over as the world's largest economy, while the United States, mired in an oil shortage, struggles to adjust to its diminished role. Then, a surprise attack throws the US into a chaos unseen since Pearl Harbor. As the enemy takes control, the survival of the nation will depend upon the most unlikely forces: the Navy's antiquated Ghost Fleet and a cadre of homegrown terrorists.
Ghost Fleet is unique in that every piece of technology featured in the novel already exists or is in the works. Peter W. Singer is Senior Fellow and Director of the 21st Century Defense Initiative at the Brookings Institution and a consultant for the US Department of Defense and FBI. August Cole is a journalist and writer specializing in national security issues and is an Adjunct Fellow at the American Security Project.

When Muslim fundamentalists blow up a key Soviet oil complex, making an already critical oil shortage calamitous, the Russians figure they are going to have to take things into their own hands. They plan to seize the Persian Gulf, and more ambitiously, to neutralize NATO. Thus begins Red Storm, an audacious gamble that uses diplomatic maneuver to cloak a crash military build-up.

Hard to put down
I really enjoyed listening to this book! I found myself eager to make time to really listen to it. A great work of fiction that’s not hard to imagine one day happening. Many colourful characters and multiple plots that didn’t overwhelm. Just a touch humour top it off.
I was a little disappointed by the ending. Felt like there should have been at least one more chapter before it.
The narrator did a great job without sounding too campy, in voicing various characters and accents.
Highly recommend if you’re a fan of the genre.

I go through this book at least once a year
Great story, great details, and great narration.
this is one of a roster of books that I listen to on a fairly regular schedule. honestly I don't know how many times I've finished it. There must be 100 audio books in my library but I always end up coming back to this one.

Interesting but falls flat
I enjoy novels in the vein of Clancy and know what to expect from them. While Ghost Fleet does deliver on action and technical details, I hoped for something more in terms of political context and character development.
The narration is unfortunately performed with a jerky, broken cadence that is distracting at times.
