I would say this storyline was predictable and uneventful but if you want something easy to listen to it was okay.

Good story. Nice and easy pallete cleanser in between ACOTAR books. Also, nice to hear an old Twilight fanfic polished up.

When I started listening to this book it took me a while to get into it. It was worth the perseverance though. There are only two things I disliked. I didn’t get a good sense of Kennedy’s growth. It felt throughout the book that it was only Jonathan that needed to grow, and Kennedy was presented as a final perfect character. I felt she should have been more of a work in progress and that was a little disappointing. Kennedy’s narrator, although she is a tremendous voice actor, I don’t feel was right for this character. I liked the way the story went back and forth and Kennedy narrated her story in the third person.

What a great story, brought to life by fantastic narrators. Joe and Maxine have knocked it out of the park. Maxine’s voice of Madison is adorable! You won’t be disappointed!

An epic love story, narration perfection

Great 2nd chance romance. Strong fmc who doesn't take bullshit. No drawn out fights that could be easily solved with a basic conversation like in other books. Spice 🌶️ 3 Romance ❤️ 4.5

I'm very impressed by the male dialogue Maxine Michell manages. She's really awesome. They're BOTH really awesome. Joe Arden does an AMAZING job with an argument in Chapter 21 - lots of back and forth and fast pace speaking really gets you into the zone of the interaction. And it's easy to sense who's speaking.

Normally, I don't like books that have flashback chapters but I love this one. The little side notes that fill in gaps in the story and specific situations are well written.

Everyone did a great job with this book. Author and both narrators.

Kennedy fell in love with a lost boy when she was only seventeen years old. Following him to Hollywood so he could pursue his dreams of becoming an actor, she sacrificed everything to help make his dreams come true. Until he started sacrificing her. Now, years later, she’s a single mother, working as an assistant manager of a grocery store, trying desperately to forget the boy who store her heart, and gave her their daughter.

Jonathan has everything he ever could have imagined, he is Hollywood’s newest heartthrob, working on the latest movie in a superhero franchise. He should be on the top of the world, but as a recovering addict, he knows he needs to make amends, especially to the woman who gave up everything for him, and the little girl he’s never met.

I actually really loved this story, Kennedy showed so much strength and determination to make life better for her daughter, and did not bend easily when Jonathan makes his appearance. On his side, Jonathan showed true vulnerability and refused to take no for an answer. I loved how the story flashed back to their beginnings, giving us these little glimpses into their past as the book progressed, rather than throwing it all out there right at the beginning. This way we really don’t get the full story until the last few chapters, which made it all so much more significant.
