À propos de cet audio
When that grief wave hit, it was unbearable. I tried to hold on as it ripped through me, leaving a large invisible hole in my chest the size of a tree trunk, but no one could see that I was bleeding. I yelled and screamed and pounded and even fell to my knees. I did not know how or if I could get through it.
My son was gone. My husband was gone. Disappeared forever.
I wrote Grief Comfort Guide: A Personal Journey from Loss to Light to share in this memoir how I was able to get through the dark reign of grief from the loss of seven of my loved ones and come out of it whole, positive, and happy. The first part of the book is about grief, and I offer the steps I took that helped me. There are also some meditations that may bring a few moments of peace.
The second part of the book is my personal memoir as I celebrate the lives of each of my loved ones who have passed. Their stories are interesting and I've included some fun times I had working in Old Hollywood.
They were here. They did exist. They mattered.
“I thought your 10 ways to handle grief an excellent guide. What I really liked about your book is that it’s person to person and not theory on how to handle grief; it’s a layman’s guide without all the psychoanalysis, and it’s something that the everyday person will be able to understand and relate to and be helped by because its solutions are real world and common sense. Good for you. And I think everyone will be able to recognize themselves and their feelings in this book. I guess what I’m trying to say is that it’s honest.” (Madalyn Stone, editor)
"Reading Lenay's book is like sitting in the lap of your favorite grandmother. With her gentle style and comforting touch, readers will feel surrounded by love and get in touch with their own inner strength as they go through the journey. I wish I had Lenay's book during the time after my mom died. It would've made a real difference." (Jennifer Coken, author of When I Die, Take My Panties: Turning Your Darkest Moments into Your Greatest Gifts)
"One day, each of us need a shoulder to cry on and a soothing voice to comfort our pain. Even though there is no one shoe that fits all when it comes to grieving the loss of a friend or loved one, Lenay's book, Grief Comfort Guide, will help anyone who is going through the grieving process." (Lena McCalla Njee, MA, Special Education, author of Autism Inspires and Ivan Gets a Dream House)
