Intro to Halo
I read this book back in high school and enjoyed it then but so was hesitant to try to read it again. However, the narration, characters and story really shine through in this audiobook. I strongly recommend this book for any science fiction fans but especially if you've ever been interested in finding out more about the Halo universe.

If you like the games you’ll love this book
Not only do you get som info about the spartan program, but you really do get a grasp of how serious the human covenant war really is. Definitely worth a listen, Todd McLaren does an amazing job at portraying master chief.

Inaccuracies in narration
I also own the book so I referenced it at times for weird mistakes. The voice of Todd is great but it just seems like he presses records, reads it out and that's it. Mjolnir was pronounced wrong but that's okay because it still sounds "close" to the correct pronunciation but stuff like ONI is not pronounced O-N-I. Also, Chapter 15, The "setting" date in the book says 2552 when the narrator says 2542. The narrator overall sounds great but attention to detail that pertains to halo seems to be missing.

Excellent Story with Great Narration
Excellent story with great narration, only one word obviously mispronounced. would recommend this book to anyone regardless if they're a Halo fan or not

solid read for any fan of the iconic game series
Loved it, great for any long time halo fan. definitely hooked me during cimbat sequences, you always hear how Spartans are portrayed in the written material and it didn't disappoint.
a few words or mispronounced here and there but it didn't bother immersion to much. I have a heard time with sitting down for books and this helped alot.
story was fun and I had a blast comparing it to what I had already knew about the lore of the series. although you'll enjoy it even with out knowing the lore or having a perfect memory of the games plot.
definitely gonna be continuing this series.

Enjoyable despite cringe
The story is fantastic. The performance was enjoyable aside from two issues: character accents were not consistent, and worst of all there were MAJOR mispronunciations of key words such as Mjölnir, ONI, ect. The mispronunciations were a constant reminder that the person reading knows nothing of Halo which was rather distracting. Was also odd that in the first scene with Chief, the narrater seemed to put on an OK impersonation of the characters voice from the game, then never used that voice again... Anyways, great book!

It was all amazing, except....
everything was awesome when I was listening but the voice actor kept on pronouncing Mjolnir wrong. it's more like "Me-Y'all-Neer". but other than that simply amazing.

Narration makes the story even better
After reading this book in the past and enjoying the hard Sci-fi and rich lore it offered, it was a pleasure to have it read back to me as an audio book. As a halo fan, this experience is a must. I am impressed with the work of the narrator as his voice works perfectly with the tone of the story. I also enjoyed how well he changed his voice to fit the characters.
