À propos de cet audio
If you believe the news, today's America is plagued by an epidemic of violent hate crimes.
But is that really true?
In Hate Crime Hoax, professor Wilfred Reilly examines over 100 widely publicized incidents of so-called hate crimes that never actually happened. With a critical eye and attention to detail, Reilly debunks these fabricated incidents - many of them alleged to have happened on college campuses - and explores why so many Americans are driven to fake hate crimes. We're not experiencing an epidemic of hate crimes, Reilly concludes - but we might be experiencing an unprecedented epidemic of hate crime hoaxes.

Shocking, Funny and Insightful
You cannot make it even halfway through this book without realizing that our society has been race and gender sympathic for so long as to allow the propagation of the most obviously absurd hate crime hoaxes

A timely investigation
Reilly takes great pains to detail a large number of alleged hate crimes, the reaction in media, culture, politics, and law enforcement, the eventual revelation of the incident as a hoax, and the disturbingly common way in which the perpetrators of these fabrications are treated with kid gloves - usually facing the most minor of consequences.
The opening portion contains possibly the most valuable information for our current cultural climate, where Reilly debunks the univariate analysis of racial disparities in American culture as being purely the result of racism. Once that reality is understood, the prevalence of hate crime hoaxes becomes completely understandable.
And in case you are someone who cares about this, Riley himself is a POC.

Someone’s students don’t respect him.
I want to say “interesting perspective” but really nothing about these handful of extremely cherry picked cases is enlightening. “Mainstream media sucks. Donald Trump is a God…” and so on… Someone’s is clearly extremely frustrated by the lack of influence they have on their students points of view.
