À propos de cet audio
Dan Broderick was one of California's most successful attorneys; his wife, Betty, a beautiful socialite. But when Betty discovered Dan's hidden life, the façade of LaJolla's golden couple was shattered. What followed was a vicious five-year battle that finally ended in a shocking double murder.
A Harvard Law School graduate, Dan manipulated the law to strip Betty of everything she loved: her home, her friends - even her children. When she frantically tried to fight back, he had her committed to a mental hospital. His new wife, Linda, even sent the once-beautiful Betty wrinkle cream ads and weight loss pamphlets.
Consumed by hatred and thoughts of revenge, Betty's rage exploded on the night of November 5, 1989. Before the sun rose the next day, Dan Broderick and his gorgeous new wife were dead - their bullet-riddled bodies wrapped in the blood-soaked sheets of their bed.

Acceptable True Crime
I remember a fantastic episode of 'American Justice' covering the investigation/trial(s) of jilted wealthy housewife Betty Ann Broderick shooting her ex-husband and his new wife (and there were TV movies, episodes of 'Deadly Women' & 'Snapped', two 'Oprah Winfrey' interviews, etc). This is a well-known case. I personally think it’s a pretty clear example of FAFO (F**k Around and Find Out) with an arrogant A-hole taunting a clinically mentally ill person until she does what unstable people do, and author Bryna Taubman presents the ugliest elements of the collapsing marriage and Broderick's jawdropping reaction. The details of the case are well-researched and presented capably, but I wondered if I was being manipulated. Taubman includes plenty of Betty's justification testimony given in interviews.. but largely paints Dan and his new wife as flawless victims enduring the crazy. The book is a little bit one-sided.
As to presentation: Tantor Audio Inc. provides a quality listening product. Unfortunately, reader Courtney Patterson consistently sounds out of breath. She is an "average" narrator at best.
'Hell Hath No Fury' merits 7 stars out of 10. If I wasn't familiar with the case, I might have rated it higher, but the author's evident bias (and deficiencies in the reading performance) render this an "adequate" audiobook. It was a worthwhile distraction for a couple of quiet afternoons.. but not worth a Credit. When it leaves the 'Plus' menu, keep browsing.

Let's Drive Betty Crazzy
There was enough drama and tragedy in the Broderick murders to touch everyone involved. If only one oof these 3 adults had stopped to put the brakes on this trainwreck before Betty lost her mind and murdered Dan and Linda in bed. She knew what she was doing when she got un her car and drove there. I think Dan, as a lawyer knew just how to weaponize the divorce decree to punish Betty for her outrageous behavior. Dan didn't "handle"" the affair very well ((oh please). Maybe spouses should try some respect and some restraint when dealing with their children's respective parent. Read Hell Hath No Fury and see which side of scales you come out on. Gayle
