Fun unique story
It was a great story fun to listen to but at times the voices by the performer were distracting and took away from the story- still worth a listen!

Not a superhero fan and loved this book!
I only listened to this book as a part of a challenge to myself to listen to all 5 books from 2021 Canada reads. This was the sleeper hit. I loved all the cleverness and the fierce female characters! It evoked the joy of Saturday morning superhero cartoons. Such a pleasure!!

Nasally Voice
I was really looking forward to this story since it was recommended by a few friends who read the hard copy. I had a hard time getting through the audiobook since the narrator had differing levels of a very nasally, nerving voice when speaking for the various characters. I couldn’t handle it and ended up switching to reading the hard copy about 2 hours into the audiobook. The writing and story are very entertaining though.

Couldn't put it down!
What a funny, complex, addictive, intriguing book! I could not put this one down. The disability rep (Anna uses a cane) was everything. Add to that complicated friendships, so much delightful queer rep, and "villains" who are more likeable than the "heroes" and this book wound up being my catnip!
I heartily recommend it, but caution readers who are sensitive to violence, torture, and surgery done without patient consent. The witty voice tempered the gore for me, but there are places where some people might have trouble.

Great lessons to be learned!!!
The pace of the story picked up within the second half. I was a little disappointed at the suddenness of the ending. I could also feel for the emotions of the narrator. This could be a great story to learn about how we create boxes for people and how they are to fulfill their purpose in life. I will continue to hope that we don't have to meet the expectations others place upon us.

Not your average super hero story
This day and age every variation and scenario of hero and villain story has been done… but yet this book still manages to find a new spine on it and manages to steer clear of predictable plots and has you completely enthralled and rooting for the villain
