Before she discovered cannabis, Lauren Mundell was busy - busy glorifying productivity and trapped in the rat-race culture of New York City. She was fighting pitch-room battles for a top PR agency and clawing her way to the top of the ladder to nowhere. She was always wearing a mask, always hyperaware of the opinions of others. Not even she could see that she had lost herself. She was a competitive, sharp, "badass-bitch businesswoman" right down to the six-pack abs. She walked the walk (in stilettos). She made the money. She had all the things she’d once thought she wanted. 

But it was never enough. And the masks became all that were left. She forgot who she was in trying to become everything for everyone. Late-night emails, the "working weekends", that shooting pain in her leg, running late to everything that was important, mom guilt. In trying to stay in control of everything, she completely lost herself.

Then, after Trump’s election in 2016, Lauren’s husband retired from the Navy and began using cannabis. Lauren was shocked. But after seeing positive changes in him, she became curious - high-curious. What followed was a transformation, a reclamation of self, and a wake-up call that this rat-race lifestyle she was living had turned her into a shell of herself she no longer recognized. 

High Curious is the story of a woman who played by all the rules and by all accounts was winning. But winning was killing her. Call it burnout or a midlife crisis, but discovering cannabis at 43 upended Lauren’s life and changed her for the better. Learning to use cannabis intentionally allowed Lauren to move past the unaddressed, crippling anxiety that was holding her back from enjoying the abundance of her life. This book tells the story of Lauren’s seismic life shift aided by cannabis and invites listeners to open their minds to cannabis as a wellness supplement.
