Disappointing

I expected an Irish crime drama but what I got was wildly overwritten domestic fiction. I had figured out who, what, when, where, and why about one-third into the book, and what was left were too many banal cliches and a narrator, whom I normally adore, butchering American accents and male voices with a very odd vocal affectation. This has been my only experience with Sam Blake and I'm afraid it will be my last.
