Thought provoking content and subject matter
This book left me with mixed feelings which is not necessarily a bad thing. I felt the author dwelled far to long on the outdated scientific controversy that dogs are just biological machines with no more consciousness or emotions then a clock or motor engine and his statement as fact that a neonate would not be capable of suckling if not learned in the first few hours puts some of his research into question for me. Despite this I believe there is still lots of value to be found in his research and writing. The narrator's manner of speaking was odd and best listened to at a faster speed but overall I did find the audiobook interesting and thought provoking so I will give it a second listen.

Hard time getting through
Wow! As a dog trainer, I absolutely love listening to books about how dogs work...NOT this one!
First, the reader was impossible to listen to! His droning, monotone voice. The tone he used and the speed was the worst! Thankfully, I was able to speed it up, but it still made it impossible to get through.
The book itself I'm sure is full of useful information but it also seemed full of useless analogies and comparisons that, combined with the narrators tone made it very difficult to follow; I feel that I didn't learn a thing!!
With 1 hour left to the book, I couldn't do it anymore! I didn't even finish it
