À propos de cet audio
A must-have resource for anyone who lives or works with young kids, with an introduction by Adele Faber, coauthor of the international best-seller The Boston Globe dubbed "The Parenting Bible".
For over 35 years, parents have turned to How to Talk So Kids Will Listen & Listen So Kids Will Talk for its respectful and effective solutions to the unending challenges of raising children. Now, in response to growing demand, Adele's daughter, Joanna Faber, along with Julie King, tailor How to Talk's powerful communication skills to children ages two to seven.
Faber and King, each a parenting expert in her own right, share their wisdom accumulated over years of conducting How To Talk workshops with parents and a broad variety of professionals. With a lively combination of storytelling, cartoons, and fly-on-the-wall discussions from their workshops, they provide concrete tools and tips that will transform your relationship with the young kids in your life.
What do you do with a little kid who...won't brush her teeth...screams in his car seat...pinches the baby...refuses to eat vegetables...runs rampant in the supermarket? Organized according to common challenges and conflicts, this book is an essential emergency first-aid manual of communication strategies, including a chapter that addresses the special needs of children with sensory processing and autism spectrum disorders.
This user-friendly guide will empower parents and caregivers to forge rewarding, joyful relationships with terrible two-year-olds, truculent three-year-olds, ferocious four-year-olds, foolhardy five-year-olds, self-centered six-year-olds, and the occasional semi-civilized seven-year-old. And, it will help little kids grow into self-reliant big kids who are cooperative and connected to their parents, teachers, siblings, and peers.

We can not raise a happy child if we are constantly screaming threats at them. No parent sets out to hurt their child, but this type of parenting does just that. To raise a happy child that wants to behave, you need to retrain yourself first. You need to change the way you think and react to their behavior. You need to understand your triggers and heal yourself. Only then you can begin to heal your relationship with your children.

I devoured this book!
I am not a parent, but I'm an aunt of a little boy who means the world to me. What a wonderful guidance book, which will help me secure the love and teamwork from my nephew! I can't speak for parents, but for anyone who takes aunt/uncle "parenting" to heart, I highly recommend this genius book!!

Great Information for Older delayed children
I have a 30 year old son with Universal delays. Although he cannot comprehend everything said or talk to me, this book gave me tools to use that I hadn't thought of.

GREAT BOOK! This is a MUST read for all parents!
Tons of tools! I love how the book recaps all the tools at the end of the chapter so that you can just listen to the beginning and write down all the tools at the end. I suggest writing all the tools down in your notes because there are too many to memorize and having quick access is key! The stories/examples from parents they give sound very Disney, but nonetheless, the tools DO WORK which is the most important factor of this book. Get it, you won't regret it!

Life-changing book
I can't recommend this book strongly enough to parents of kids in this age group. I've read a lot of great parenting books, but this one is by far the best. Practical advice that I was able to start using right away with noticeable results in my otherwise more frustrating moments with a preschooler and toddler. Read this book!!!!

Loved it! Big thank you to the authors!
The tools in this book have worked wonders for my daughter and I. I feel more confident as a parent and it has brought us closer. We are both happier and life has been much easier now that I have the tools to calm her down before a meltdown ensues. The book was funny and full of super relatable stories of the problems parents face while raising kids. The narration was great! I liked how they had different people narrating for the different parents telling the stories. Will recommend this book to all my friends with little kids!
