Don't bother with the outdated one, GET THIS ONE
I gave the original an honest try, two hours left. While the core message obviously works, I just couldn't do it. The original was so painfully dull, tales of the old fashioned white man with the nagging housewife, not relatable with its stories or examples. I would listen to it if I wanted to be lectured to sleep by my grandpa.
The updated version had examples and stories that were applicable and relevent to now. More relatable, heaven forbid more FUN to listen to, references of people and places that I actually understood. Much easier to digest. Skip the outdated one, go for this one.

Always a classic, now right up to date
I was a little worried when I bought this audiobook that it would be the very old-school version which, as good as it is, was badly out of touch with the times. I was delighted to learn that the same simple principles are here, but with excellent real world, very current examples and citations.. This is still my go-to textbook for understanding and refreshing my practice of basic human relations principles. Even better as audio!

Poor…I wish I could get a refund
This book, well well intentioned, is more a use of Dale Carnegie‘s name and literally just regurgitate some of the information that he had in his original text. Adding in one or two things about digital communication really does nothing other than serve the authors pocketbook. Save your money and buy the original as there’s very little content that’s been added. Certainly no content of any worth
