Suprising till the end!
I absolutely loved listening to this recording of Howl's Moving Castle. It is a well-loved anime and felt that I was able to see all of the characters in my mind as I listened this book. Although Studio Ghibli had made many changes I feel like the ones that they did did not take away from this wonderful book. I give this a 10 out of 10 and would read again. The only thing that I didn't like very much was the readers voice for Howel.

the great character voices and explanation of appearance
I actually watched the movie before I knew it was a book, I so often like to read before watching. having done things the other way around I was extremely surprised at just how much I stayed at attention. when I would fall asleep I would always rewind (and have crazy dreams) it did take me roughly a week or so to make it to the end but I wasn't about to "skim" now that I've finished, I'm not sure what to listen to next 🤷♀️🤍

Cute little story
This book is definitely meant for kids but it's a cute little story. No major conflicts which makes it a nice and easy read.

My socks have been charmed off
I watched the Miyazaki film, first, and I didn’t think the book would have the same captivating whimsy, but it did. The details that the book add are perfect, and I fell in love with the characters even more. Also, the story is so creative, and the narrator is very good. I definitely flew through this book in a day.

far better than the movie
the books usually are but I didn't realize the movie was based on a book. the characters are so highly developed and it really clarifys some of the peculiarities of the movie.

So Good!
I have watched the movie by Hayao Miyazaki so many times, not realizing that the story is based on a book written in 1986!
I enjoyed it immensely!
This will definitely be a book i listen to every once in a while!

Absolutely loved it. Think pride and prejudice but with magic.
Could see where the story was going to go. But how we got there was a surprise. And a delight. It was light hearted and silly and put a smile on my face. The narrator made me feel like my own mother was reading me stories again.
Absolutely the best decision I’ve made this month, to pick this book up.

Loved it
Such a cute story, and it's wonderful to see where the inspiration for the animated film came from. Likewise, it's nice to have a more flushed out version. The book explains many details that were glossed over in the film.
You definitely get the feeling of a classic fairytale, but also the twist of more modern literature as well as little quirks of humor sprinkled in in such a way that you don't see it coming.
Between the writing style and the story it's self, it's quite unlike anything I've ever read before. Which is saying something, I'm a huge book worm. It's a very unexpected and refreshingly off kilter kind of book. I would very much recommend it.
I am absolutely in love with the narrator. This was my first audio book, and I was really struggling to find a narrator that I liked. Even with books that were favourites of mine that I have read personally, most narrators just didn't do it for me. The narrator sounds much like the woman who voiced Sophie in the films. She's perfect. Her voices for the different characters are different enough to bring them all to life, but not so over the top to make them tedious or distracting from what's being said. Very easy to listen to. I absolutely plan on looking at the other titles she voices for as future audio book choices.
