À propos de cet audio
I Will Open My Mouth in Parables is a collection of fictional short stories recounting events that take place in or near the small town of Quick, West Virginia. The stories are set in the 1950's and are told in the first person by "Richie Smith."
Within each taradiddle you meet the interesting people for whom the story is named – Joshua, the unborn child whose mother is a Disgrace; Johnny, who encounters the Devil's Assistant; Lefty, a prophet of the True Religion; Uncle Ron, who shunned the chance of being a Debonair; and Robby, the Prodigal Peacenik come home. The stories are told so vividly that you may believe you actually were there, that you met these people, and that you lived through the experience. These tales will make you laugh and make you cry, and make you wish you had known the people who appear in the true-to-life parables – if only they had been real.
The audio book is narrated by Paul Morella, a prominent Washington, DC, actor, who, for 35 years, has appeared at about every major theatre in the region, as well as in films, and on TV and radio. Paul, a multiple Helen Hayes award nominee, created and presented two highly acclaimed one-person shows – A Passion For Justice: An Encounter with Clarence Darrow and A Christmas Carol: A Ghost Story of Christmas. Film credits include The Pelican Brief, The Replacements, That Night, The Hunley and Diner, and he has had roles in The Wire, Homicide, The Corner and The District. He also starred opposite Julie Harris and James Farentino in All My Sons, and Marsha Mason and Fred Thompson in The Best Man, both for LA Theatre Works.
