À propos de cet audio
In this life-changing book that blends myth, memoir, and modern-day mentors, renowned psychologist Dr. Sharon Blackie journeys from the wasteland of modern society to a place of nourishment and connection.
"Mind-blowing. An anthem for all we could be . . . I sincerely hope every woman who can read has the time and space to read it."—Manda Scott, author of Boudica and A Treachery of Spies
Like Women who Run with the Wolves, this is powerful rallying cry to women to embrace a different kind of femininity. Described as both transformative and essential, Sharon Blackie leads the listener on a quest to find their place in the world, drawing inspiration from the wise and powerful females in native mythology, and guidance from contemporary women who have re-rooted themselves in land and community and taken responsibility for shaping the future.
Beautifully written, honest, and moving, If Women Rose Rooted is a passionate song to a different kind of femininity, a rallying, feminist cry for the rewilding of womanhood; reclaiming our role as guardians of the land.

Amazing Book!
After listening to this absolute gem I decided to gift it to my mother. I can see why it has sold through word of mouth - incredibly inspiring and challenges your view of the world.

One of the worst books I've ever read
I made the mistake of trying to listen to this after listening to "Women Who Run With The Wolves" which is such an empowering in depth book about the roots of feminine energy. Something this book miserably fails at. The narrator is so obviously full of resentment and the text sounds like the catharsis of an angry and oppressed woman who in fact, never rose rooted. The bias, the constant criticism and micro aggression towards so many different categories such as men, psychiatrists and at some point she even criticized Carl Jung I mean... as long as you're focusing on what men do wrong you're missing the point. You're still making it about them and not you, not the feminine. I listened for three hours of her bottomless shallow negativity and it only got worse. Don't recommend

Feminist empowerment? Not this one
Although the title implies a sense of female empowerment the book doesn’t fulfil on that. The book goes through Irish and Gaelic stories of women through history and they all include a male who ends up marrying the wild woman or ends up breaking his promise to her. The author herself speak of her marriages to men but never answers the question of how any of these women, including herself, rose rooted. I wasn’t looking for the steps on how to rise rooted to be handed to me on a silver platter, but I was looking for stories about women that I could see myself in - who are resilient, living life for themselves, and being reflective about their journey. Instead I listened to a retelling of stories that have a limited view on women’s self grounding abilities and heard more about men’s impact on the women’s lives. Very shallow emotional intelligence was shared through these stories - if anything I’m left more annoyed that I listened to a book of women who revolve around men.
