À propos de cet audio

Demons, ambition, and a whole bunch of murders.

I'm not the bad guy. I'm just tired of being the low-status nobody everyone treats like shit, and I've finally found a way to even the score.

But bonding with an ancient, powerful demon is just the first step. After centuries of inactivity, that demon is at a low ebb. Turns out, my demon is an Incubus. Guess how he powers back up? That's right. By seducing women, as many as he can get.

Sounds like fun, but there are complications. Remember when I said I was a low-status nobody?

It's going to take time, effort, and a whole lot of killing to sort that out.

Fortunately, I'm more than up for the challenge. So maybe that means I am the bad guy after all....

Contains mature themes.

So, this is one of those books that I enjoyed in spite of finding the main character annoying. A fat, bitter, unsuccessful nerd uses his knowledge to best the "Chads" (both literal and figurative) in his life to get what he wants. The whole world is a gamer point system that he resents his status in (because being good at video games should earn more respect apparently?). What actually made me like this book was that this character found out the hard way, that life wasn't about achieving everything through one action, but actually takes effort and work, even with a major advantage. It also wasn't super predictable, which I enjoyed. Also, the character development was actually pretty significant for the main character. I'm game for Book 2 and I hope it doesn't disappoint.

Simon Kingman is a disgruntled videogamer in a world dictated by status, physical appearance, and where might makes right. He comes off as whinny because the world hasn't given him a fair shake. He doesn't have the greatest people skills, which can make an ugly situation unnecessarily worse, if he's not careful. After bonding with his Incubus demon he slowly sheds the negative tendencies he's had before hand. He's more confident in himself, he's better at interacting with the opposite sex by the stories logic, and he can handle himself in a dangerous situation if only barely. By the end we have a character with clear goals in mind, and supports to help him reach those goals.

I'm convinced to continue onward.
