to sell toys

Was okay. action was difficult to follow at points. and it was hard to ignore the fact that this book was clearly there to sell Warhammer miniatures.

ultramarines vs necrons Battle of the egos

I honesty think Robin bowerman does an excellent job with a mediocre story. 🤔

Poor choice of narrator.

The Narrator makes these Astartes sound like polite shy young adults, can't listen anymore

My first foray into the 40k book universe

The story and performance were both superb and I highly recommend this to those who are both new and experienced in the 40k universe. Long Live the Emperor.

good story, average voice performance

the story was good using the new primaris units but the voice performance by Robin Bowerman was kinda flat.

how would you like a story where the primary enemy is a millions of years old robot overlord who is also an idiot. yeah me either.

Unfortunately not a winner

I'm only a few hours in at the time of this review and to be honest you can skip this one. The necron voices aren't that well done, kinda hurts to listen to. As for the voices and names of the Astartes, everyone one has a exadurated name and the voices all sound the same. The overall story so far really isn't that compelling.

Very forgettable

I usually have an excellent memory for stories, but a few weeks later there's nothing I remember of this one except it being quite bland, unlike most Gav Thorpe novels.
It just wasn't good.

Skip this one entirely

If you write a story where literally every character is an unlikable moron, you've written. A bad story.

I don't understand what happened here, I've read other stories by Gav Thorpe, the writer is solid enough to write decent novels.

Yet indomitus is a trainwreck beyond belief, literally every character is an egotistical idiot, making decisions that most children would consider to be stupid at best. Further than that, while I'm usually quite lenient, the lore breaking aspects of this novel makes it unlikable even for those insane people (me) who just read all WH40K books.
