À propos de cet audio
A 2020 Audie finalist - narration by author
Famed American actress Demi Moore at last tells her own story in a surprisingly intimate and emotionally charged memoir.
For decades, Demi Moore has been synonymous with celebrity. From iconic film roles to high-profile relationships, Moore has never been far from the spotlight - or the headlines.
Even as Demi was becoming the highest paid actress in Hollywood, however, she was always outrunning her past, just one step ahead of the doubts and insecurities that defined her childhood. Throughout her rise to fame and during some of the most pivotal moments of her life, Demi battled addiction, body image issues, and childhood trauma that would follow her for years - all while juggling a skyrocketing career and at times negative public perception. As her success grew, Demi found herself questioning if she belonged in Hollywood, if she was a good mother, a good actress - and, always, if she was simply good enough.
As much as her story is about adversity, it is also about tremendous resilience. In this deeply candid and reflective memoir, Demi pulls back the curtain and opens up about her career and personal life - laying bare her tumultuous relationship with her mother, her marriages, her struggles balancing stardom with raising a family, and her journey toward openheartedness. Inside Out is a story of survival, success, and surrender - a wrenchingly honest portrayal of one woman’s at once ordinary and iconic life.

In this honest, layered and unforgettable book that alternates between storytelling and her own poetry, Pamela Anderson breaks the mold of the celebrity memoir while taking back the tale that has been crafted about her. Her blond bombshell image was ubiquitous in the 1990s. Discovered in the stands of a football game, she was immediately rocket launched into fame, becoming Playboy’s favorite cover girl and an emblem of Hollywood glamour and sexuality. But what happens when you lose grip on your own life—and the image the notoriety machine creates for you is not who you really are?

The award-winning film biographer presents a deeply-textured, ambitious, and definitive portrait of the greatest movie actor of the 20th century, the elusive Marlon Brando, bringing his extraordinarily complex life into view as never before. The most influential movie actor of his era, Marlon Brando changed the way other actors perceived their craft. His approach was natural, honest, and deeply personal, resulting in performances - most notably in A Streetcar Named Desire and On the Waterfront - that are without parallel.

Inheritance is an audiobook about secrets - secrets within families, kept out of shame or self-protectiveness; secrets we keep from one another in the name of love. It is the story of a woman's urgent quest to unlock the story of her own identity, a story that has been scrupulously hidden from her for more than 50 years, years she had spent writing brilliantly, and compulsively, on themes of identity and family history.

“As Albert Einstein almost certainly never said, everyone is a genius—but if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.” So begins Katie Spalding’s spunky takedown of the Western canon, and how genius may not be as irrefutably great as we commonly understand. While most of us may never become Einstein, it may surprise you to learn that there’s probably a bunch of stuff you can do that Einstein couldn’t. And, as Spalding shows, the famous prodigies she explores here were quite odd by any definition.

Histoire
The first story Selma Blair Beitner ever heard about herself is that she was a mean, mean baby. With her mouth pulled in a perpetual snarl and a head so furry it had to be rubbed to make way for her forehead, Selma spent years living up to her terrible reputation: biting her sisters, lying spontaneously, getting drunk from Passover wine at the age of seven, and behaving dramatically so that she would be the center of attention. In a memoir that is as wildly funny as it is emotionally shattering, Blair tells the captivating story of growing up and finding her truth.

It took me a lifetime to have the courage and the clarity to write my memoir. I want to tell the story of the moments - the ups and downs, the triumphs and traumas, the debacles and the dreams - that contributed to the person I am today. This book is composed of my memories, my mishaps, my struggles, my survival, and my songs. Unfiltered. I went deep into my childhood and gave the scared little girl inside of me a big voice. I let the abandoned and ambitious adolescent have her say, and the betrayed and triumphant woman I became tell her side.

Wonderfully exposed
An wonderful and vulnerable story. Listening to Demi tell her own story is gives insight into her as a human being. Someone with life full of struggle as well as privilege. It’s an honour to listen as she tells her truth and is naked and exposed for the world to see. It’s full of strength, courage, passion and beauty.

Kept me engaged almost start to finish. End was slow, but interesting nonetheless. Unfortunate how she played the victim in her relationship with her children. Worth a listen, for sure. Made me want to watch "Ghost"! What a classic.

Amazing sharing of Demi's life.
Thank you Demi for your honest sharing of your life. I connected to your story and as a successful business man working to live my truth, you helped. Courage is raw quality that is forged over time and you are a representation of that journey. Thank you Ashton, Bruce and the entire Willis family for sharing that journey with Demi; you are all strong and selfless.

Just yes.
Demi shares her bumpy journey through life thus far. She reveals trauma and patterns that contributed to the bumps and potholes she encountered, but not without the self-reflection and self-responsibility needed to overcome.
This is the first book I've been able to listen to as Demi's voice is both well paced and soothing. Perfect cadence.
Thank you for sharing your story, Demi.

Was a good read(listen)
I am glad the book was narrated by Demi. It made the experience more relate able to her.
I would recommend this book especially to people I know who are trying to get into the acting field as a way to relate to famous people in a way that makes the them REAL people. Knowing that famous people are vulnerable, insecure and human I think can help a lot of people take off the rose glasses and really know what life is like as a person in the spotlight. Its not all glam!
I relate to her experiences as i have gone through many of the same experiences and feelings. It takes a strong person to look at your experiences and your pain, Learn from it and move on from them while trying not to make the same mistakes as others before us have.
Our parents did what they did based on what they knew at the time and dealt with things perhaps the only way they knew how based on their experiences. They are people moving through this world trying to make sense of it as we all are. I think if we can look at it that way we would be able to forgive easier, not forget but forgive.
I think with the way the world is today the future is brighter when it comes to openness. There is a lot more resources out there than there used to be. We can find strength in others who have come forth with their stories, learn from each other and grow to be better people.
There will always be tragedy, heartache and pain but it is how we deal with it that makes us stronger, better people.
Thank you Demi for sharing your story.
