Wonderful.
After listening many times to “The Religion” I didn’t think there could be an equal.
There was no Captain Tannhauser but it has so many other rich and enthralling characters.
I really liked this story. I couldn’t stop listening.
Thank you David Ball, you and George Guidall really made this story come alive..
For those of you who love historical drama, this is one of the best you’ll find.

A good listen
Although, some bits of the story are predictable, it's overall a great tale of the Battle of Malta and characters involved. I've heard this book compared to The Religion, but they're very different takes on same historical event. This book would be like the movie Gladiator where it's a bit closer to drama, whereas The Religion would be more like the TV show Spartacus, with a lot more action, gore, and well... sex. Both are great, just different. I don't think anyone will feel disappointed putting the time into this audiobook. I certainly enjoyed it on my way to and from work over the past month.

A very grim tale
16 hours in and I had to give up on this. Way too much abuse of children and not much about Malta.
