À propos de cet audio
“The book you hold in your hands is the distillate of a quarter century’s teaching. It is my attempt to answer, ‘What next?’ for students who are embarking on their ‘second act.’" - Julia Cameron
Julia Cameron has inspired millions with her best seller on creativity, The Artist’s Way. In It’s Never Too Late to Begin Again, she turns her eye to a segment of the population that, ironically, while they have more time to be creative, are often reluctant or intimidated by the creative process. Cameron tells listeners that retirement can, in fact, be the most rich, fulfilling, and creative time of their lives.
When someone retires, the newfound freedom can be quite exciting, but also daunting. The life that someone had has changed, and the life to come is yet to be defined. In this book, Cameron tells listeners how cultivating their creative selves can help them navigate this new terrain. She tells the inspiring stories of retirees who discovered new artistic pursuits and passions that more than filled their days - they nurtured their souls.
This 12-week course is aimed at defining - and creating - the life you want to have as you redefine and re-create yourself. This book includes simple tools that will guide and inspire you to make the most of this time in your life:
- Memoir writing offers an opportunity to reflect on and honor past experience - this book guides you through the daunting task of writing an entire memoir, breaking it down into manageable pieces
- Morning pages - private, stream-of-consciousness writing done daily - allow you to express wishes, fears, delights, resentments, and joys, which in turn, provide focus and clarity for the day at hand
- Artist dates encourage fun and spontaneity
- Solo walks quell anxiety and clear the mind
This fun, gentle, step-by-step process will help you explore your creative dreams, wishes, and desires...and help you quickly find that it’s never too late to begin again.

Life isn’t about “finding” fulfillment and success - it’s about creating it. Why then has creativity been given a back seat in our culture? No longer. Creativity is a force inside every person that, when unleashed, transforms our lives and delivers vitality to everything we do. Establishing a creative practice is therefore our most valuable and urgent task - as important to our well-being as exercise or nutrition. The good news? Renowned artist, author, and CreativeLive founder, Chase Jarvis, reminds us that creativity isn't a skill - it's a habit available to everyone.

As much as we might try to resist, endings happen in every moment—the end of a breath, the end of a day, the end of a relationship, and ultimately the end of life. And accompanying each ending is a beginning, though it may be unclear what the beginning holds. In How We Live Is How We Die, Pema Chödrön shares her wisdom for working with this flow of life—learning to live with ease, joy, and compassion through uncertainty, embracing new beginnings, and ultimately preparing for death with curiosity and openness rather than fear.

In this delightfully chilling collection, the iconic Jeanette Winterson turns her fearless gaze to the realm of ghosts, interspersing her own encounters with the supernatural alongside hair-raising fictions. Lifting the veil between the living and the dead, Winterson spirits us away to a haunted estate that ensnares a nomadic young couple in its own dark past, a staged immersive ghost tour gone awry, a West Village seance that threatens the bounds between AI and reality, and a vacation home in the metaverse where a widow visits an improved version of her deceased husband.

Very helpful.
I'm not a religious person but I chose to hear the ideas despite the god references. I'm glad I did. This book addressed some very specific issues I'm experiencing in retirement. The suggestions for how to deal with these issues have definitely helped me.

Very insightful. What we need for our "second act".
Thoroughly enjoyed listening to this book.
It was well presented both in writing and the reading of it.
My takeaways: morning pages for clarity, artist dates for inspiration, stay in the now for peacefulness.
It's Never Too Late to Begin Again encourages everyone to keep the creative juices flowing and this is what I intend to do.
Much love.
