À propos de cet audio

A rollicking collection of six fully dramatised Jeeves & Wooster novels, starring Michael Hordern and Richard Briers.

In The Inimitable Jeeves, Aunt Agatha is forcing Bertie to get engaged to the formidable Honoria Glossop. Can Jeeves save the day?
Right Ho, Jeeves sees mayhem breaking out at Brinkley Court, but there are more brains in the Wooster household than just Jeeves...
In The Code of the Woosters, who would think that a silver cow-creamer could cause so much trouble? Uncle Tom wants it and Aunt Dahlia is blackmailing Bertie to steal it.
In Joy in the Morning, Steeple Bumphleigh is a village to be avoided for Bertie, as it contains the appalling Aunt Agatha. Still, there are good deeds to be done.
Jeeves and the Feudal Spirit finds Jeeves in for a few surprises when returns from his annual shrimping holiday in Bognor Regis.
In Stiff Upper Lip, Jeeves, Madeline Bassett and Gussie Fink-Nottle’s engagement is on the rocks, and poor Bertie's next in line for the fair maiden’s hand.

Publisher’s note: As of January 2025, the dramatisations have been re-ordered into their correct order, by original broadcast date.

Wish there was more!

This is a great favourite of mine! I listen to it over and over, particularly before going to sleep. Wodehouse's use of English is sublime. The actors are totally engaging. Of course, Richard Briers is such a fast talker that I set the Speed to 90, I don't want to miss a single word.

Funny it is funny, innocent and delightful

These are a large number of loosely connected stories by the late, truly great p g Wodehouse.
Wodehouse’s writing, you would be hard pressed to find better. A more light hearted plots also, no better. Oh and no funnier. I am a dour old bag who finds herself laughing out loud. It is hard not to, with the delightful, so able cast assembled for the reading. Do enjoy a world with no war or sorrow, for at least a little bit.cy

Absolutely topping

Just like watching Hugh Laurie & Stephen Fry episodes. Innocent and ridiculous hilarity true to Wodehouse genius in every way.

Haven't laughed this hard in a long time!

I love radio dramas. I am new to Wodehouse, but not to radio dramas, so I took a chance on this set and hit the jackpot! This compilation is from the Richard Briers and Michael Horden series they did in the 70-early 80s on BBC Radio 4. These two (Jeeves and Wooster) play so well off each other. It truly is like Fry and Laurie back in the day (who did play these 2 characters). Horden's dead-pan "Yes sir" is hilarious. The trouble the characters in these stories get in and need to be rescued is simply too funny. My only caution is be aware of where you are listening to this because laughing out loud may look strange to strangers (say on the bus). :)
My only complaint is with Audible.. as per usual, they don't list the dramas or episodes in the chapter list. It's a compilation and some may want to listen to a particular story/book and they can't. And some of the stories start in the middle of a chapter, too.
Otherwise, yes, I wholeheartedly recommend this set!!
