À propos de cet audio

Returning to Madison hurts. I thought I'd left my past behind, but the past goes on living. I carry it inside of me, it's a piece of me. People have marked me in indelible ways, and I drag the shreds of my soul behind me, trying to put my pieces back together. I'm not the Amber I used to be. I fly under the radar, try to be invisible.

It doesn't always work. Drawing attention scares me. It always spells trouble. Returning to my hometown is a last-ditch effort to lay my demons to rest and start anew, for good this time.

Meeting Jesse Lee wasn't in the plan. Yet here he is with his heart-stopping, sexy grin, handsome like a god, shining bright. He's full of life, full of heat, packing the energy of a thousand suns in his gaze and muscular body. Jesse burns, and the pain of being near him is sweet.

But he's foiling my plans. It's hard to remain a ghost when he's around. Hard to avoid his attention, to remain invisible. He sees me, really sees me, and behind his bright radiance, I can see shadows from his own past crowding in. He's swimming hard to stay afloat even as he reaches for me.

What is he afraid of? And how can he save me from drowning when he can't even save himself?

Stand-alone novel. No cliff-hanger.

Warning: This book contains graphic language, sex, and violence. Mature listeners only. Not intended for young listeners.

Angst and Finding Yourself

I quite enjoyed this story. It was full of angst, yet I appreciated the development of the characters. I didn’t particularly like Abby Craden’s narration, especially when she changed her voice to portray supporting characters and they ended up sounding like chain smoking witches. lol. Reading about the sexual relationships of this younger age group isn’t for everyone, especially if you’re over 35 or 40, but I think it’s completely realistic. If you’re going to read this series, you need to keep an open mind and realize that the author is portraying many horrific situations that thankfully most of us have never had to experience. It doesn’t make it any less real! My only criticism of this whole series, is that it would have been better with younger voices.

Well done again

This book was just as good as the previous one in the series.

Sebastian York as usual was amazing the only thing I would’ve done differently is well Sebastian’s voice is way too low to be a teenager’s voice. Jesse was something like 19 and Sebastian‘s voice sounds more like a late 20 year old voice. But his voice is sexy nonetheless.

Abby Craden did a very good job narrating as well.

This story was a typical troubled boy meets female who rescues them.

Something bugs me...

I didn't want to give this too low of a rating because of my "opinion".... but here goes:

I have an issue with ages in this story. If you're on the up side of 30 and older... you might not want to listen to teenagers getting..... intimate. For me, it doesn't matter what "legal age" is. It's still... uncomfortable for me. and to make things worse, the author uses the words "boy" and "girl" instead of man and woman, and it's like taking the point home for me.

As for for the story; it's okay. There's a lot if negativity in this novel and especially the heroine... she doesn't seem to grow at all. She's completely awkward.

Next, the narrators. I love Sebastian York. Huge fan here. But, there's always a time and place. Sebastian has an older voice more fit for 30 and up. So it was strange in this story.

Abby Craden is a new one for me and... I'm sorry, but her voice is a bit creepy. When she voices Amber, Abby has a great voice, but as she changes to read other characters' dialog... it can get a little weird.
