Description
Aubrey St. James is in trouble. She's locked in a cell at a government black site. She doesn't know where that site is or how the hell she got there. But she knows that it has something to do with the stranger she rescued from the river. Someone - or something - called Johnny.
Saul Tarson knows that the thing he's locked up is dangerous, because it left a trail of six dead cops in its wake, all killed in a way that defies explanation. It is Saul's sworn duty to get to the truth about Johnny before more people die - a lot more.
All Johnny wants is to return home. But he has a mission to fulfill first. And what he does in the next 20 hours will either save mankind - or bring it to its knees.
Johnny is the new breakneck science fiction thriller by Audible listener favorite D. J. Molles, New York Times best-selling author of The Remaining series.
Narrated by Marc Vietor with additional voices by Scott Aiello, Lauren Fortgang, Amanda Ronconi, Therese Plummer, and Josh Hurley.
Ce que les critiques en disent
"Marc Vietor narrates Johnny's earthly adventure in a deep, sombre tone reminiscent of the voice-overs of televised stories of extraterrestrials....his portrayals of the resigned alien and the berserk agent make this alien breakaway compelling listening." (AudioFile)

A graphic thriller not for bed-time listening
I picked up "Johnny" as a daily special, not knowing anything the author or the story line, except that it was sci-fi. I was blown-away by the psychological intensity of the story set in current day Oklahoma and New Mexico and points in-between. The metaphorical descriptions were intriguing and the pacing of the writing was excellent for each episode. The author makes frequent use of first-person narration by the main characters that shares with the reader their most intimate thoughts and backstory. The main premise of the story -- telepathic aliens arriving sporadically around the planet with vague intentions -- was not well developed but the reader was obliged to figure it out along with the human characters. Only at the very end is some closure given to the human characters who survive. The action in the book was often very graphic and anxiety-inducing, so I would not recommend it for bed-time listening. If you enjoy the psycho-sociological sci-fi stories of Ursula K. Leguin or C.J. Cherryh. you will likely enjoy this book.

Surprisingly good!
I bought this book on a whim, thinking it would be okay, but nothing special. It was actually a very great story, something that a movie could be made from. The characters were good, narrated was good, and it didn’t have any boring or slow parts. I’d recommend this one to anyone who likes fiction with a little bit of sci-fi

Excellent story
The story although fantastic was a tiny bit draggy at times and I would lose track. The narrative grates on nerves after a while.
That being said, the book was well written and the characters so well portrayed that at the end you will miss them. I am not much for science fiction, but the reviews were so good I took the chance. If I was to read the book I would not have been able to put it down until finished. Well done.

Wait for It
This one's a long, slow climb sprinkled with some suspenseful moments to a predictable end. But the reading is excellent and there is a lot of heart, as we hope there is in humanity in general.

like aliens? this is a great read so to speak
this is my first time with this author. i love the fact that it starts out like a mystery novel. your got questions you're not sure who's who. I love the way it was done and it makes you think about lots of things. I thoroughly enjoyed it. the way talks about Humanity and who's breaking it or who's enhancing it it made for a delightful change of thought.

Shoot the messenger
I may need a bookshelf for "covert government agency" but "Thriller" covers that, at least for the books I'm willing to finish.
Visitor from elsewhere gets caught up by paranoid government operatives. Collateral damage ensues. No film at eleven.
Also: When you're fighting monsters, take care you don't become one.
Also: When you're trying to save Humanity, stay on message. Avoid mission creep.

Weird Science Fiction
I didn’t like either the story or the reader. I have no idea how I even managed to get this short book. I didn’t finish it. I wish there was a way to pick a negative star.
