À propos de cet audio
Fifty young kindred spirits representing 50 US schools and states have written essays that are combined to create a very compelling audiobook entitled Kids Journal Through COVID19! Youth authors, ages seven to 13 and chosen from various schools, readily put fingers to their keyboards and poured from their hearts to share personal experiences during this pandemic assault!
This National Youth book project strengthens students’ reading and writing skills and fosters an emotionally healthy, creative outlet during this historic health crises.
This important endeavor could not have launched at a more appropriate time. The weight of two perils, a lethal virus, and racial violence have rapidly spread throughout the US and across continents. Creative expression is valuable to assist in alleviating anxiety. Our children’s mental and emotional health cannot go unnoticed.
One 11-year-old writer discusses her mother, who works at a nursing home and must keep working to support the family. Like so many, her mother was very worried about spreading the virus to her daughter and others. She didn’t want her to die. Unfortunately, she felt it necessary to send her away to live with different relatives until it is safe to return home. Our young author laments, “I miss her so much and I feel so bad and helpless and even guilty that she cannot just leave her job for a while. At the same time, I am proud of her for helping others.”
There are 49 additional dynamic stories. Each one vividly illustrates their heartfelt concerns and victories gained.
Kids Journal Through COVID19 is far-reaching and includes stories written in English and Spanish.
