À propos de cet audio
Let's just say it: Being a man in today's world can be a bitch!
Gone are the days when men had distinct roles because life used to be a daily fight for survival against nature, the elements, and enemies that are also largely gone–or are they?
Navigating this modern world as a man is tricky, confusing, and often dangerous. Possibly more dangerous than ever. Prisons are packed to the rafters with men. Men provide nearly all the income for criminal and civil courts. Homeless camps are filled with lost, hopeless, and hollow men.
However, there are certain hacks that any man can use every day and rely on to get them through the tough spots and on to clear sailing. I've had to learn them. I've used them, so I know they work.
What exactly is a man? What is a man's value? What is distinct, enduring, and necessary about men that we bring to the table of life? What makes men important? That's exactly what this book is about.
The idea of this book began as a list of instructions that I imagined I would leave for myself if I were somehow reincarnated as a man in some future life to save myself time in learning the hard-won lessons l had to learn as a man in this lifetime—and the hard-won lessons that I've watched other men have to learn—so I could get more enjoyment from being a man if I had to do it again (true story).
Killing Your Lion is a collection of principles that I now know any man can use. It is designed to take a lot of the confusion and danger out of living as a man, either today or in some future time. If they work for me and every other man, they'll work for you too.
For I know now that men are important. Men are necessary. Manhood is still a very real thing. And I know it's a thing to be proud of, and it's probably more necessary now than it has ever been.
