I love this story. I often fall asleep while listening to it, comfortable in the knowledge that by now I could recite most of it by heart! a must for Rebus fans

All the things I love about the noir genre… the sex moans from the narrator felt a tad awkward tho.

Considering how long ago this was written it’s still a great story. I had some personal issues with the objectification of Rebus’ 11 year old daughter but at that time, people’s ideals were different I suppose. Still disturbing and brings about the question, what is wrong with men?

Good read

Definitely enjoyed this story, but would have liked some more details for the main characters. It just felt like knowing more would have given more closure at the end, but I like storybook endings, so maybe that’s an unfair criticism.

Very decent

I have read multiple books in this series, but found this one slow. Maybe it's because it's the first one. Also, for me, it was hard to follow with the reader having an accent. I know that is a me problem, but it would have been helpful to know before settling in to listen.
