À propos de cet audio

The singer, guitarist, and songwriter, best known for his work with Wilco, opens up about his past, his songs, the music, and the people that have inspired him.

Few bands have inspired as much devotion as the Chicago rock band Wilco, and it's thanks, in large part, to the band's singer, songwriter, and guiding light: Jeff Tweedy. But while his songs and music have been endlessly discussed and analyzed, Jeff has rarely talked so directly about himself, his life, and his artistic process.

Until now. In his long-awaited memoir, Jeff will tell stories about his childhood in Belleville, Illinois; the St. Louis record store, rock clubs, and live-music circuit that sparked his songwriting and performing career; and the Chicago scene that brought it all together. He'll also talk in-depth about his collaborators in Uncle Tupelo, Wilco, and more; and write lovingly about his parents, wife Susie, and sons, Spencer and Sam.

Honest, funny, and disarming, Tweedy's memoir will bring readers inside both his life and his musical process, illuminating his singular genius and sharing his story, voice, and perspective for the first time.

I laughed a lot and I cried some too. A masterful telling of one's own story. Self deprecation in healthy measure while allowing that he is, in fact, a highly regarded creator. I'm going back to the intro right now.

Laughs and tears. A positive and hopeful autobio.

I loved this audiobook because, I have been a big Wilco fan since the 1st album A.M. was released in 1995. Jeff Tweedy is a great songwriter, and I loved that he narrates this book, which made me listen to it from start to finish. I found his story telling quite captivating, thru all the trials and tribulations ,he has lived up to this point.

Magnificent Audiobook by The Great Jeff Tweedy. !!

It would be nice to have more authors reading their own books. Jeff speaks about his own life and with the same wry humor. Man was Jay Farrar on the spectrum. Starting from his humble childhood in rural Belleville, Illinois just east of East St. Louis. The evolution of one important arm of Alt. Country movement (the other being Minnesota's Jayhawks) including Uncle Tupelo splintering to Wilco and Son Volt. This is an easy read and enjoyable if you like Tweedy's music. Nice to see him finding his feet and working through the hard parts of life.

Jeff on Tweedy - very hopeful middle American
