While this isn’t one of my favourite narrators, it was good. I do wish they had chosen a narrator who sang the musical parts of the book. It would have been such a nice touch. Also, one that fit the age of Callie and Emmie would have been more appropriate.

This is my first book by this author but I’m sure that it won’t be my last. This was an engaging story. I really enjoyed the characters in this book. They felt so real to me. I did find it odd that Callie felt stifled though. She had such a loving family that it seemed out of place somehow. At least for me.

This novel had the ups and downs, celebrations and sorrows, normalcy and mystery, sickness and health that are LIFE. Nobody was perfect. Life can be messy sometimes. I appreciated that realism and honesty.

I felt invested in the story and tried to guess how things would ultimately play out. The ending with the focus on a minor character was odd to me. The epilogue helped though. That felt like a true ending.
