Not sure where the good ratings came from...

After reading a multitude of light hearted cozy mysteries, this series was definitely a downer for me. The main character, Lia, is never happy. The narrator is ok at times but mostly sounds as the Google book Reader voice does - mechanical. While the storyline is kind of interesting and the author gives lots of pro tips on dog ownership, it just wasn't enjoyable for me. I made it through the first book and the first couple chapters of the second, but I can go no further.
