À propos de cet audio
Best-selling author Mark Manson brings his signature no-nonsense wisdom back to the subject he started his career covering: relationships. Being with your partner may feel like rainbows and unicorns, but that doesn't mean you have a healthy, functioning relationship. Sure, we all need love...but love is not enough.
In Love Is Not Enough, Mark’s first Audible Original, you’ll follow five real people over the course of six months as they navigate f--ked up romantic situations, ranging from dating app addiction to marital affairs to absurd fantasies. At regular intervals, they check in with Mark, share their stories, and soak up some advice. As you listen to these candid, funny, and moving conversations, you’ll learn how to stand up for yourself when you feel the most vulnerable. You'll learn how our imaginations derail intimacy, how our deepest desires can lead us into trouble. You'll learn how to open yourself up, and you'll develop the courage to say and hear that necessary word, "no." You'll learn how to love. And you'll learn that love is not enough.

In Everthing Is F*cked, Mark Manson turns his gaze from the inevitable flaws within each individual self to the endless calamities taking place in the world around us. Drawing from the pool of psychological research on these topics, as well as the timeless wisdom of philosophers such as Plato, Nietzsche, and Tom Waits, he dissects religion and politics and the uncomfortable ways they have come to resemble one another. He looks at our relationships with money, entertainment, and the internet, and how too much of a good thing can psychologically eat us alive.

We're in the middle of an epidemic of average. So-called "normal" people get up every day, go to work, do what's asked of them, leave promptly at five, and return home to sit on the couch and watch TV. Society tells us that this is what it means to lead a balanced life. Don't stress too much or work too hard. Your career isn't everything. But Grant Cardone thinks this preoccupation with balance has really just given an excuse to be mediocre.

About the Creator
Mark Manson is the #1 New York Times Bestselling author of Everything is F*cked: A Book About Hope and The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck: A Counterintuitive Approach to Living a Good Life, the mega-bestseller that reached #1 in fourteen different countries. Mark’s books have been translated into more than 50 languages and have sold over 12 million copies worldwide. Mark runs one of the largest personal growth websites in the world, MarkManson.net, a blog with more than two million monthly readers and half a million subscribers, making him one of the largest and most successful independent publishers in the world. His writing is often described as ‘self-help for people who hate self-help’—a no-BS brand of life advice and cultural commentary that has struck a chord with people around the globe. His writing has appeared in The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, TIME Magazine, Forbes, Vice, CNN, and Vox, among many others. He currently lives in New York City.
The subtle art of giving a F*** about your love life
From the man who practically invented the swear-word-laden book title comes a decidedly unbookish release dedicated to helping people make better choices about their love lives. What results feels like an “if they mated” love child of the best relationship advice columns and self-dev podcasts. Love is Not Enough comes to life as Manson works through real-life romantic (and not-so-romantic) quandaries with people ranging from a serial-Tinder-dater to a twice-divorced intimacy-phobe to someone in a three-year affair with a man she met at work. I’d be lying if I said that voyeurism wasn’t part of the appeal of this listen—which allows you to be a fly on the wall during these very candid conversations—but sprinkled throughout are Mark’s on-point observations and subtle (!) instructions on how not to f-up your life by making bad decisions about who to pair off with.

Really recommend!
Obs I’m here cuz I’ve gone through a break up. Reading some reviews I was skeptical because not everyone loved it. Also going through the book I almost skipped through some of the interviews because I didn’t think I resonated with certain characters, but I did resonate someway with every single one. I also almost cried at the end cuz one of the character hits too close to home for me, but I was at work and had to really hold back my emotions. I will re read this book a few times to hopefully implement some of these homework/discoveries to my life in hopes to be better and do better in my relationships. I’m really happy I found this book! Thank you so much!

I’ve had this book on repeat to sleep to, wake up to, and listen to daily, first few times to soak it in, now because I can’t find anything better or even similar that I’d like to listen to on this app. 10/10 you did a great job, Mark.

Very interesting - would buy again
This book wont change my life but it seriously helps me understand some important concepts (boundaries, co-dependency, what a healthy conflict looks like...) and really got me thinking. I am currently re-listen another time right away. I really like that the book is performed by the author. I like hearing the stories from the people. Really a great buy. I'm considering offering it as a gift now.

Podcast style breezy listen
I enjoyed this format of audiobook. Felt like I was in someone’s living room eavesdropping (with permission) on a very honest and open conversation between two people. You might listen to the stories and think this is passé, or you’re too wise and above this, but Mark Manson peppers these stories with observations, examples, and concepts that bring to light some blind spots I personally was unaware of.
I recommend this for anyone who wants to make a deeper connection with themselves.
