À propos de cet audio
Among the Space Wolves there are as many sagas as there are warriors. Though none quite like that of Lukas the Trickster.
Renowned and reviled in equal measure, the Jackalwolf has ever stood apart from his brothers, passed from pack to pack by embittered Wolf Lords. But as a new enemy invades the icy reaches of Fenris at the height of the Helwinter, Lukas finds himself facing a foe who may rival even his legendary cunning - the drukhari corsair, Duke Sliscus.
In the battle between wolf and serpent, who will emerge triumphant, and who will lie on red snow?

Slow start, satisfying finish
Overall the writing is decent for a 40K book, the part 1 and 2 are somewhat slow but it does have its moments. Part 3 and onward is where the book shines and leaves you wanting a sequel. The narration is good, but there are times where the voice acting falls a bit flat as it is difficult to tell which character was which. I would recommend this for anyone that has an interest in the spacewolves or dru

Good story
I enjoyed it overall. Lukas is a good character and I felt the story was just the right length.

Fantastic venture into Drukhari minds and Fenris
The story takes a decent amount of time introducing our protagonist as the fun loving, care free upstart then moves to fully fledge out his character throughout the story. Great depictions of various locals throughout Fenris, and delves into Drukhari lore and history briefly via Duke Sliscuss.
Definitely a relaxing fun "read."

Good for most of the book but ends "Lukas-warm"
Lukas is a great man character and gives an excellent insight to the more untamable side of the space wolves. unfortunately (SPOILERS) the big bad guy doesn't die. nobody wins, nobody loses. It's a filthy tie, which means the audience is the one who loses.
it works out exactly the way they tell you it will. as soon as the drukari get cornered they run away, the end. Lukas doesn't die despite it being foreshadowed, and he isn't even subjected to a metaphorical death and forced to change as you might expect from a character like him. hes a trickster, he isn't challenged to be more than that and we really don't get to explore why he's so different from his brother's. the bad guys get away with relative ease, Lukas and the bad guy have a final battle where they jerk each other off about how tricky and rebel the other is, but that's it.
The character archs and plot are interesting enough to write a blurb on and get you to buy it, but like with most professional work these days, that's where 90percent of the effort goes. Disappointed.
Also the narrators voicework is just bland. I discovered his work on the blue berry books and fabius and he's just as basic here as he is there. All he does is pinch his throat to make voices, that's it. He does a good job on the female characters but given how most everyone is a guy everyone sounds like robute and fabius. you'd think a professional would take some classes so he can create new characters instead of just doing the same voices across multiple books. all he'd have to do is just look up some YouTube videos on voices.
Overall I'm kinda getting sick of how safe and watered down authors write about the the Grimdark milenuim. God forbid their characters die or are forced to change, or even invite us in to explore their immutable natures, because that would be extra work.
