Mexi and Her New Friends is the second book in the series The Adventures of Mexi the Boat Dog.

Mexi makes friends with some new dogs and introduces her best friend Canna to her new friends, along with Dylan. They learn to play together, no matter their size or age. Then they have a sad time when one of the older friends, Chip, starts feeling poorly and goes to the vet. He does die and goes to the big farm in heaven and meets up with other friends. Mexi and her friends learn that when their friend dies, they think about all the wonderful times they have had and the beautiful memories they have of their friend to keep their friend alive in their minds and thoughts, and also, that they must talk to their parents if they feel sad.
