À propos de cet audio

The updated edition of the best-selling book that has changed millions of lives with its insights into the growth mindset.

“Through clever research studies and engaging writing, Dweck illuminates how our beliefs about our capabilities exert tremendous influence on how we learn and which paths we take in life.” (Bill Gates, GatesNotes)

After decades of research, world-renowned Stanford University psychologist Carol S. Dweck, PhD, discovered a simple but groundbreaking idea: the power of mindset. In this brilliant book, she shows how success in school, work, sports, the arts, and almost every area of human endeavor can be dramatically influenced by how we think about our talents and abilities. People with a fixed mindset - those who believe that abilities are fixed - are less likely to flourish than those with a growth mindset - those who believe that abilities can be developed. Mindset reveals how great parents, teachers, managers, and athletes can put this idea to use to foster outstanding accomplishment.

In this edition, Dweck offers new insights into her now famous and broadly embraced concept. She introduces a phenomenon she calls false growth mindset and guides people toward adopting a deeper, truer growth mindset. She also expands the mindset concept beyond the individual, applying it to the cultures of groups and organizations. With the right mindset, you can motivate those you lead, teach, and love - to transform their lives and your own.

“An essential read for parents, teachers [and] coaches...as well as for those who would like to increase their own feelings of success and fulfillment.” (Library Journal, starred review)

“Everyone should read this book.” (Chip Heath and Dan Heath, authors of Made to Stick)

great but repetitive

you will get the message of the book totally dialed in because it is hammered home over and over in a somewhat repetitive fashion. I loved the book despite this.

Eye opening book!

We can all admit that we have thoughts, opinions on various subjects and specifically with our own alives. Mindset challenges these thoughts, opinions and gives new perspectives in non-judgmental ways. I listened to it twice. Very well done. Highly recommend!

Fantastic contents; subpar narrator

I loved this book and it was absolutely worth listening to. It was laser focused on delivering a clear picture of what a growth mindset is, its counterpart (the “fixed” mindset), and how to grapple with the two in your own life.

I personally had a difficult time trying to get into the rhythm of the narrator’s voice, which was a little too “uptight” for me.

Regardless, I’d listen to the book again, because there are many phenomenal demonstrations of how a growth mindset can help affect change in any number of domains.

Thanks Dr. Dweck for the amazing work! Keep growing! 💪

Helpful content

Good content. Lots of helpful points from the first few chapters. It dragged on a bit in the second half of the book.

Amazing concepts, too much fluff.

I love the concept of this book. I think having a good understanding of fixed mindsets and where you may have them and not know is essential for personal growth. But this book is 98% anecdotes. I wanted some exercises or practical steps to achieve said mindset for ones self and it was relished to about 2 minutes of audio at the end. Great concept, fluffy mediocre execution.

Growth Mindset a Journey Toward Embracing Changes

Helped to correct some of my key perceptions and changed the way to look at things driven by growth mindset. Though few concepts might challenge you deep inside, but ultimately would help to figure out fixed mindsets and recognising those ones during occurrences. Most of the chapters are well researched and backed by powerful thoughts.

Would recommend to those who are looking forward to explore themselves and would like to change the way they used to think and treat themselves.

Enlightening!

I truly enjoyed listening to this! I listened every morning and often in the evening. Very interesting and eye opening. Very helpful understanding how I think and learning how to work towards changing some of those thought patterns. I look forward to listening to more in the series. The narrator was pleasant to listened to.

Powerful and Informative.

I started reading this and felt good about all the Growth mindset traits I had. Lol. By the end I started seeing a lot more of my fixed traits. This book is packed full of great information. I'll be adding this to my textbooks of good living.
