Pretty Good

I listened to the audiobook version and overall, I found it only a little enjoyable at times. I believe that the narrator, Juanelle Holl helped to strengthen the book though. Her mild French accent was soothing to listen to. The story wasn’t bad. I found the glimpse into the world of ballet interesting. It is a dialogue heavy book that handled the interaction between characters well. The story itself lost me a few times throughout, but I still have some positives to highlight. The cover of the book is great, and it made me curious to read it. It is a short novella and so it was worth the read just to explore the writing style of Zee David. The dialogue is well done, and I didn’t mind the first-person point of view jumping from character to character because of the way that it was handled. The beginning of each chapter states the character who the first-person point of view will be told from. The mystery and crime solving investigation parts of the book didn’t really pique my interest, but I still appreciated the book as the art that it is as written by Zee David.
