À propos de cet audio

Vince Ciacci wanted to be a "Made Guy". From the time he left the brutality of upstate New York's Coxsackie Reformatory, he worked for "Wiseguys", committing armed robberies, collecting for the Mob, and dreaming of the day that he would "get his button".

He never made it into the Mafia's inner sanctum. Why? He was too crazy and too violent. Hooked on drugs and alcohol, Vince was a loose cannon, so dangerous that his own crew considered taking him out.

This is his story, told in his own voice. It's the story of a guy who, by all rights, should be dead or in prison today. Come along for the ride in a story of true crime like you've never heard before.

"Ciacci's colorful New York accent sounds like he's straight from central casting. His delivery is casual and captivating. He presents his life as is, without apology, and often ends his stories with a self-deprecating chuckle that seems to suggest he can't believe his past himself." - Publishers Weekly (audio review)

Inspiring… enjoyable.. engaging… the New York accent alone will keep you hooked but the stories are even better!

Loved all of it!

This is not a book. I believe its a podcast series or some sort of recorded biography. This recording lacks cohesity and organization. Each chapter has an overly dramatic intro followed by Ciacci introducing himself. Musical interludes separate each of the stories in the chapters. A significant number of his recollections are repeated more than once at different points. The timeline of events is often out of order as well. Ciacci often begins a story by suggesting its funny or hilarious. They are never hilarious and rarely even a little funny. He laughs his way through several stories of getting impaired, driving, and wrecking cars. He suggests at one point a couple of scantily clad women may have got what they deserved when they are gang raped and thrown naked into the street by some colleagues. He later tries to walk this back a bit by saying he didn't like the way they were treated and he felt bad. Another brief story he chuckled through involved a sexual relationship he had with a 15 year old girl when he was 21 years old. He was pretty sure she didn't know about the statutory thing or he could have gotten in trouble. He did note that he got along with her dad, so I guess that makes it okay. Overall the content over promises and under delivers. As an author/narrator, I didn't find Ciacci engaging or inspirational at all.

Not a good listen
