Through the Monster Hunt app, Chase Knowles becomes the Alpha of two powerful Huntresses: one a half-dragon female fond of combat and banter, the other a cute warrior fond of reading spell books and wielding two killer blades.
Their goal? Hunt these mythological creatures in the parks, rooftops, and back alleys of New York City; build a fighting party to compete in brawls and tournaments in the city and beyond; earn money; and try their damnedest not to get arrested.
Warning: Monster Hunt NYC contains a light harem with monster girls, augmented reality, fantasy violence, a ton of action, and GameLit/LitRPG concepts. It was inspired by the Persona games, Pokemon Go!, and Scott Pilgrim vs. the World.

Great concept and well performed
love the idea as an ar game, believable and concerningly intuitive. I like the tunes throughout. I will be looking for a soundtrack for sure. Characters were well voiced and I look forward to more

When is the rest!?
It got me through the entire day, I finished the book in 2 days. it's a fun adventure and very enthralling

The background music ruins it
Try as I may I couldnt get into this title because the of the background music. Who ever made the creative decision to add constant background music to an audio book really needs to reevaluate. I'm glad it was included in the Audible membership because I would've regretted paying/using a credit for this!

Kind of pokemon setting with masturbation with virtual game character
The virtual game settings with interactions possible in reality is an interseting concept. The wole thing with capturing monsters in reality that only the player and his hunters could see (or anyone else with the monsters hunter app installed), the organized m brawl / fights with other teams for point was totally « pokemon » style.
The author added sexual inuendos that built up to masturbations sessions given to him by his virtual huntress and occasional cuddles to complete the setting of the story.
Yep this is pretty weak story setting! The main goal is to become rich and win tournaments…
I liked the different characters voices, this help bring the story along. Lady C’s voice got on my nerves but her whole being did so it’s no surprise (very 2D superficial character; with female body and no mind of it’s own other than being happy to be owned by a master). Talking about 2D most of the characters where superficial and had no depth.
I did not like the choice for background music either, it was like hearing elevator music all the time…
On a positive note to end my comments, I liked the idea to lure monsters/ hunters by signing to them, that was original and interesting (the only thing that was)! Of course the lyrics of these songs were crap but they fit with the general setting of the book.
