À propos de cet audio
From New Zealand author Donna Malane, My Brother's Keeper is a dark and twisting mystery that leaves no stone - or page - unturned.
Diane Rowe is a missing persons expert. Ex-con Karen needs Diane's help to track down her fourteen-year-old daughter, Sunny, whom she's lost contact with while she's been in prison.
To Diane, this appears at first glance to be a simple case of a mother wanting to reunite with a beloved daughter. Tracking the girl down is easy. However, convincing her to meet her mother is no easy task. And at the back of Diane's mind is a nagging thought - that guilt and innocence aren't straightforward and nothing is quite what it seems. Does Karen really want to fix the wrongs of the past or is there something darker at play here that will take all of Diane's skills to uncover?

Beautiful!
A rare and unexpected find, I stumbled on My Brother's Keeper through my fondness for Saskia Maarleveld's narrative genius and my love for all things New Zealand, and not a minute of this audiobook has disappointed. I listened to it all in a single go, from start to finish. The storyline is unique and kept me intrigued throughout. The reveals happened when they should have happened, not too early, and not long after I'd figured them out. The women-driven action is just right, and I like the hero detective without ever being disappointed in her. She comes across as human, as someone who lives life and hasn't been broken by it. I even don't mind the cops, who, for a change, provide a sort of accommodating backdrop, and aren't the intrusive idiots who are working harder to thwart the detective than they are at their own jobs. I highly recommend this read. Five starts all round.
